I got an e-mail from the owners of Playpants, a Canadian shop that sells these darling cotton "bloomers" (basically diaper covers) in different styles including dressy (with ruffles) and organic (made with 100% organic cotton). These are not like the usual white ruffled/monogrammed diaper covers you've seen before; they have more flair and style, but are still easy on the eyes (and wallet- they start at $15.95). My favorite design is "Schoolbell" ($21.95) shown at left. The downside? The sizes only go from 0-3 mos (8-14lbs) to 12+ mos (27+ lbs). When my cherubic little girl was 12 months, she already wore a 2T or even 3T depending on fit; by the time she was nearly 3 (and not yet toilet trained) it was next-to-impossible to find bloomers/diaper covers that were big enough for her. I'd love to see Playpants expand to bigger sizes. In the meantime, if you're lucky to have a little one who has a diapered tush to cover this summer, visit Playpants.
