In addition to Limelight, a new entry onto NYC's shopping scene that I must check out soon is MARTE, a weekly outdoor/indoor artisan flea market launched by Manhattan Media (the publisher of New York Family magazine and other community newspapers). It's located at PS63, a public school in the East Village/Lower East Side, and a portion of proceeds go to support NYC public schools. There's everything from artwork to jewelry to noshes, plus live entertaiment and a special family-friendly area with products for parents and treats for kids. Visit MARTE for hours and directions.
