Many male fish jealously guard their territories, destined for feeding or reproduction. Exceptionally, when two males lay claim to the same territory and the adversaries are of equal strength, a fight takes place, with each of the two participants convinced of being the one that will win.

ปลาตัวผู้หลายตัวทำหน้าที่เฝ้าระวังดินแดนของตนเอง เพื่อหาอาหารหรือผสมพันธุ์ เมื่อปลาสองตัวอ้างถึงกรรมสิทธิ์ของตนเองในดินแดนเดียวกัน และคู่ต่อสู้ทั้งสองก็มีพละกำลังทัดเทียมกัน การต่อสู้ก็จะเกิดขึ้น และผู้ชนะจะต้องมีเพียงหนึ่งเดียวเท่านั้น
