Fabulous & Frugal Fun: The $5.25 Take

I'm convinced you get the best deals (and sometimes the oddest merchandise) at garage sales. In just two hours with, and $5.25 later, I couldn't believe the fabulous finds I made with my sister at four garage sales and a church rummage sale in Independence, Missouri.

Here's the rundown:

How-to needlepoint book, free!;

Five-piece metal rooster motif trays, 50 cents;

Three plastic rain bonnets, 30 cents;

Two rolls of ribbon, 25 cents;

A bag of vintage cookie cutters, 25 cents;

Cub Scout memorabilia -- two Cub Scout books from the 1950s, three Scout pins, and five badges, $2;

Gold-trimmed, glass butterfly dish, $1;

Spiral notebook with a CB radio lingo guide printed on it , 20 cents;

An old craft book, 25 cents;

AND FINALLY

A Recordamatic record sorter, still in the box (50 cents).

TOTAL: $5.25
